Russ Laughlin

Russ was born and raised in Takoma Park, Maryland. While living there he attended John Nevins Andrews Elementary School and Takoma Academy. While working at summer camp (Camp Blue Ridge in Virginia) Russ felt God calling him to youth ministry. He attended Southern Missionary College and graduated with a degree in Theology. After college, he attended Andrews University Theological Seminary and graduated in December of 1986.

Russ served as a pastor in Florida Conference for four years, first as an associate pastor in St. Petersburg and then as pastor of the Homestead district, which included the Homestead, Key Largo, and Islamorada churches. He moved to Hinsdale, Illinois in December of 1990 to become the youth pastor for the Hinsdale SDA Church. He moved here to Keene in August of 1995 to become the Keene Adventist Church’s associate pastor for youth ministry.

He enjoys road and mountain biking, wakeboarding, and snowboarding. He cheers for the Chargers (Keene High School), the Eagles (Keene Adventist Elementary School), and the Blazers (Chisholm Trail Academy).

His desire in life is to help others, particularly youth, to develop as responsible, servant leaders for Jesus who have a relationship with God now, as well as throughout eternity.
